English Country Easter

Brian Ness

As a kid, my grandmother had a set of brown and white dinnerware engraved with pastoral scenes. They were out all year, but nothing reminded me more of spring. Specifically in places like Minnesota, Spring isn't ways as bright and colorful as we'd hope, Oftentimes, Spring, specifically around Easter, looks like rolling hills of brown grasses and the earliest inclinations of new growth.

When I thought about Easter this year, my mind went back to those brown plates. And then, while combing through a local consignment shop, I came across a few mismatched ironstone plates, each featuring a beautiful countryside scene. There we had it!

There are 6 plates in the series, now up on my easy site. There is also this set of greeting cards:

There are plenty of other great items that complement this theme available on Etsy. I put together a treasury of some of my favorites.
